Baby Cakes was surrendered by an elderly man facing health challenges and unable to provide her proper care. He made the decision to entrust her to Crossroads Donkey Rescue. She spent 24 years isolated in a small pen and now lives the life of a Diva with plenty of friends.
Gretchen came to the rescue when she was abandoned by her previous owner. Her severe neglect has caused her to be permanently lame. She requires regular hoof trimming to alleviate her pain and make her more comfortable.
Digger, a senior donkey, was rescued from a kill pen years ago. He developed a large growth that is suspected to be cancer. He currently has a good quality of life and with your sponsorship, he will live out his remaining years with the best of care.
Tank was rescued from a kill pen years ago. Because of his can"tank"erous attitude, he has been deemed unadoptable. He is a senior donkey and has lost most of his eyesight and can be an unpredictable kicker. But here at Crossroads we still love him and his attitude.
Elsie was a surrender due to unforeseen circumstances with her previous owner. She is a senior donkey who is big and bossy. Due to her commanding personality and age, she will be a permanent resident under the care of Crossroads.
Petunia came to Crossroads via another rescue organization years ago. She suffered from severe neglect and trauma. She continues to show anxiety with any human interaction. Petunia receives lots of patience and love as she continues to heal under our care.
